A Medical Clinic in Karenni State Thanks You!

The Medical University (1) Student Union has been operating a private clinic in Karenni state for over a year now to provide medical assistance to war refugees and those who were harmed by the military, while also distributing food and clothing. Due to the unstable economic situation, the clinic is relying on donations as the sole source of income.

The clinic provides medical assistance to all patients without any discrimination based on their affiliations or background. The clinic's focus is on providing free treatment to those in need, regardless of the complexity of the medical procedure required. The camp official overseeing the refugee camp has reported that the majority of individuals fleeing the war suffer from malnutrition, inadequate living conditions, and harsh weather conditions. Furthermore, the refugees' mental health is of concern, with many experiencing various psychological issues as well.

The clinic addresses a wide range of medical needs, from minor to major surgeries, with patients being treated for injuries caused by landmines and other trauma. The cost of treatment varies significantly depending on the patient's condition, with expenses ranging up to 100,000 kyats per patient. The Medical University (1) Student Union has received donations from Better Burma, which have been used to purchase the required medical supplies.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the clinic was able to use a recent donation to purchase 375 items of injectable solution for stomach problems. The Medical University (1) Student Union expresses its appreciation for the support provided by Better Burma in distributing the donations. The clinic aims to continue providing medical assistance to those in need, with the hope that the provision of essential medical care will help alleviate the suffering of the war refugees and others in need.
