Good Karma in Bagan

The following report has been sent to us by the team leader continuing to oversee the ongoing rice donations across the Bagan area. We thank our donors so much for their support! At $4 per 8.5kg bag, your donation has meant so much. Any additional contribution can go towards our continuing efforts!

“Recently we could contribute alms-rice to 936 monastics in Old Bagan, New Bagan and Nyaung-U. There was a serious increase of monks who came back to Bagan to take Rain Retreat during Vassa Period in dire need of food.

We organized the first session at [Redacted] Monastery and 600 monastics attended there to receive the contributions. The second session was conducted at [Redacted] Monastery.

I bet your pardon that my report has been somewhat delayed. When my family and I have come back home from Bagan after organizing the donation events, we encountered a series of encounters between the local resistance groups and the military on the way and we were blocked: we just finally safely made to reach home today.

Personally speaking, my family and I are gladly delightful to help your donation to happen to reality finally since we have witnessed the true needs of the monastics for food during our stay in Bagan for three days. I would like to share our delights or bliss of our Veyyāvacca Dāna (service of others' meritorious deeds) with you all. Sādhu. Sādhu. Sādhu for all your merits.

May this Karma of your good deed bring you the happiness, good health and insights just like your contribution of alms-rice which will be giving good health physically, happiness and insights mentally to the beneficiary monks.

Thank you very much again and I brought you the thankful message from the organizer monks, who are the executives of Sangha Nāyaka Committee, that they made on behalf of all the beneficiary monastic community in Bagan.”
