Relief for IDPs in Kayah State
Kayah State is on the top lists of the severely attacked ethnic areas by military junta. Many refugees were in dire need of assistance after fleeing fierce fighting between junta troops and Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF).
These refugees (including many women and children) were forced to walk through the jungle for days to reach relatively safe areas along the border with Thailand. During the arduous journey, they often had to eat half-cooked rice. Purified water was scarce. Many got seriously sick without proper treatment.
Even after they reached the camps, they were living in makeshift tents and dealing with serious water shortage.
Better Burma donated relief items to support the IDPs in the jungle. The donated items are purifier water bottles, daily necessities, first aid kits, bandages, Covid and malaria relief goods (hand gels, mosquito nets, mosquito spray, etc.) and torches.
Thank you again donors for your support to Myanmar! Thanks to all the volunteers who carried out this meaningful project!
