COVID-19: A Great Opportunity for Practice

Great words of inspiration to keep in mind from the Polish monk Pabhassaro Bhikkhu, spoken just as the coronavirus pandemic hit Myanmar.

I always feel the most important is to see what we can do and what we cannot do, what we can accomplish and what we cannot.
— Pabhassaro Bhikkhu

“I always feel the most important is to see what we can do and what we cannot do, what we can accomplish and what we cannot.

So, in this case, there are a lot of things that are beyond our control right now. We don't know how long the situation is going to last. We don't know what are the next steps in different countries and what are going to be our living conditions or restrictions.

And as far as the life is concerned, it is of course uncomfortable and it's not something that we want in our life. But as far as the practice is concerned, this is actually a really great opportunity. And if we take it as a temporary, impermanent path, to really learn how to let go, to learn how to take responsibility for our own hearts and our reactions.

So let's say we have news tomorrow, and there's some new restrictions, how easily and how quick are we able to adapt, to adjust and to let go!”
