A Sincere "Thank You" To All!

We recently shared the following letter with our donors and are pleased to share it here with our wider community of supporters.

Dear Friend,

We’re reaching out because at some point over the past several years, you made a donation to Better Burma. Your generosity and trust in our mission mean the world to us, and we want to take a moment to sincerely thank you.

As many of you know, Better Burma was founded in response to the 2021 military coup. Our mission is to advance a free, peaceful, and prosperous Burma by supporting sustainable community development programs, providing emergency relief to vulnerable communities, and running a multimedia platform to inform and engage people on Burma's current situation.

Your donation has had a profound impact across several of our humanitarian projects. For example, your support has helped bring stability, hope, and opportunity to Chin refugee children in Mizoram. By providing educational materials and funding the construction of eight schools, we’ve created spaces for 800 refugee children to learn, fostering normalcy and growth despite the trauma of displacement.

In the Sagaing region, where violent military attacks have devastated communities, we’ve partnered with a dedicated local team to address critical healthcare needs. Your contribution has helped establish mobile clinics and fund medical training programs, ensuring life-saving services for those most affected.

Additionally, your generosity has supported monastic communities facing food shortages. These monasteries also house charity schools, offering free education, meals, and accommodation to children from diverse backgrounds—providing them a chance to thrive despite the hardships around them.

On the media front, our Insight Myanmar Podcast continues to expand its reach, now engaging an audience of more than 140,000 listeners. Our content is accessed by diplomats, policymakers, academics, journalists, monasteries, and democracy advocates, both inside and outside Burma. Moreover, major outlets like Radio Free Asia and Mizzima, among others, regularly share our work, further amplifying our impact. The podcast’s in-depth interviews with key leaders and thinkers are providing valuable insights for those involved in the movement for democracy and human rights. Meanwhile, our Burmese-language program, Myanmar Revolutionary Tales, has also gained traction, earning praise for exploring guest perspectives with rare depth.

We are deeply grateful for your belief in our mission and your unwavering support for the people of Burma in their ongoing fight for democracy and human rights. As international attention fades, many Burmese feel increasingly isolated—but your contributions send a powerful message of solidarity and hope. We cannot thank you enough for standing with them.

As our work continues, we hope we can count on your ongoing support for the programs mentioned above, as well as new initiatives in development.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to consider making a recurring donation. Monthly contributions provide a stable foundation for our work, allowing us and our local partners to confidently plan and deliver impactful programs. Recurring donations can be made through PayPal or Patreon, and we’re deeply grateful for your consideration.

Of course, one-time donations of any amount are also immensely appreciated! Another meaningful way to support our mission is by shopping at our online stores, Aloka Crafts or the Better Burma Shop. This initiative sources handcrafted items directly from artisan communities across Burma, with a focus on empowering vulnerable groups. Every purchase supports these artisans while contributing to Better Burma’s wider mission. All products are 100% Burmese-made and hand-made, reflecting the beauty and resilience of their creators.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Together, we can make a lasting difference for the people of Burma and help them realize their aspirations for democracy and human rights. We’re honored to have you as part of this journey and look forward to continuing this vital work alongside you.

With gratitude,
Your friends at Insight Myanmar and Better Burma
