The Plight of Pinglong City

Readers may have heard to recent terrible news that has taken place in Pinglong city, where innocent civilians are in desperate need of assistance. The Military Council has engaged in battles near the southern gate of Pinlaung Township, leaving many people caught in the crossfire. Homes and lives are at risk, and the situation has become increasingly dire.

One woman from Ping Laung shared her harrowing experience of being shot at without warning while crossing the gate. Sadly, this is just one example of the many innocent civilians who are suffering as a result of the conflict. Over 100 residents of Taung Mae Thin village are currently trapped in the village monastery, and the military tension continues to increase.

The situation is so severe that people are raising white flags in hopes that they will not be harmed by military assaults. With over 5,000 people already displaced here, living conditions have become incredibly challenging. The people of Pinglong city desperately need help.

It is disheartening to report that the Myanmar military, who are meant to be protecting the lives and homes of the people, have reportedly cooperated with Min Aung Hlaing to oppress the people instead. This injustice cannot be ignored, and it is time for international authorities to intervene and protect the innocent civilians caught in the middle of this conflict.
