Deworming Tablets in Sagaing

In a previous post, we described the mission of the local group Healing Hands. After publishing this, our donors stepped up big time, and with the funds we received, we were able to support their tremendous work being done in the Sagaing Region. We can’t express our gratitude enough for the generosity and trust that donors have placed in our nonprofit, and following, we share how Healing Hands has been able to benefit from this support.

Healing Hands extends its sincerest appreciation to Better Burma and its donors for their unwavering support in providing essential medical supplies. With the funds received from Better Burma, Healing Hands was able to purchase thousands of deworming tablets, which were distributed to children in Taze Township.

During a medical tour organized by Healing Hands, the team visited several community-run schools and CDM staff in controlled areas by the resistance forces. During the tour, the team administered the deworming tablets to school children, which was one of the most significant achievements of the medical mission.

Deworming tablets are essential for children in displaced areas, as they help prevent parasitic infections, which can cause malnutrition and stunted growth. In areas with poor sanitation and limited access to healthcare, parasitic infections are a common problem, particularly among children. The lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities increases the risk of parasitic infections, which can lead to a host of health problems.

Healing Hands acknowledges that their medical tour would not have been successful without the support from Better Burma and its donors. Therefore, they would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the kind contributions towards their mission. They humbly request continued support in delivering their healing hands to areas in need.

Healing Hands thanks Better Burma and its donors for their generosity towards their cause. Together, they can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
