Emergency Fund

Dear donors,

We are so grateful for your generosity and compassion in helping those who are suffering in this time of crisis.

Since the military coup began on February 1st, thousands of innocents have been killed, and over many more have been detained. The violence has been especially brutal against peaceful protesters, with many being shot and killed by security forces. The situation in Myanmar is extremely dire and your donations are making a real difference in the lives of those affected.

Your support is helping us to provide essential supplies like food, water, and shelter to families who have been displaced by the violence. We are also able to provide medical supplies and support to those who have been injured. In addition, your donations are helping us to fund advocacy and awareness-raising efforts to help bring an end to the violence and restore democracy in Myanmar.

Many may know that we work with trusted local groups who submit their urgent needs, and we do our best to fundraise accordingly. However what you might not know about are those 3 a.m. calls that come to us when a local contact informs us that their community is facing a critical life-or-death situation, and they have nowhere else to turn. In cases like these, there is no time to gather information or fundraise; we must send whatever we have on hand.

In the midst of this crisis, there are many people who urgently need help. Some are fleeing the violence, others are in need of medical assistance, and still others are simply trying to survive in a country that is in chaos.

This is where an emergency fund would be invaluable. With such an emergency fund in place, we would be able to quickly and easily respond to requests for assistance, without having to worry about where the money will come from or how to raise it.

We want to do everything we can to help those in need, but we simply don't have the resources to respond to all of the requests for assistance that we are receiving.

So, we are appealing to our supporters to help us raise an emergency fund to respond to the needs of those impacted by the military coup in Myanmar. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and will help us to save lives.
