Ongoing needs in Chin State

Chin state has been hit hard for months now by the Burmese military. The needs there are so overwhelming that they are honestly hard to put into words. One of the main groups carrying out missions has tried to do just that, describing their operational structure as well as the needs of the Chin people at this time. Take a moment to read their words below, and any donation earmarked for this group we will send out immediately.

Scale of needs on the ground and Proposed Aid

There is humanitarian crisis in Myanmar including in Chin state , scale of needs for those who are inside of Myanmar or who have fled to neighbouring countries are extremely huge .  Fleeing suddenly to the forests and to other places for their life without any preparation, the people in the IDP camps solely rely on the generous people support from outside . Unfortunately there is no any humanitarian support /aids from the Military government nor allow any organizations or international communities to do so  without going through them which is uncertain and risky ,  among many needs the following are most urgent needs that need our support .

The proposed aid ;

1.    Food Relief : Food security remains most essential needs and providing such as rice, oils, salt and pulses are particularly lives saving for the IDPs and essential for their survivals.

2.    Basic Health Care : CDKs ( clean delivery kits) and multivitamins especially for most vulnerable group i.e Pregnant women , Multivitamins for Children (under  5 years old) and elderly (above 70 years old) , Hygienic kits  particularly for those in refugees /IDP camps ( where there can be easily spread of communicable diseases ) , basic medicines for common illness

3.    Access to Education : Since year 2020 due to the Covid outbreak , the schools could not open , and with the Coup in 2021 , even worse , its unlikely and unsure the schools can be reopen . The school children have no option to get education and are greatly affected . Therefore providing the children to have access to education is hugely important at present not only for their education prospectus but also for character building , mental health preventing them to engage in violence, human trafficking , drugs , illegal trades , prostitutions , theft etc.. .

4.   Sheltering Materials : Household essentials such as blankets, mosquito nets, tarpaulin remains urgent needs for the IDPs .
