Together we make children smile!
A few days ago, people all over the world were celebrating Christmas – the most magical time of the year! Presents were given and children’s eyes were again shining with happiness. In Sagaing Hills, close to Mandalay, our local volunteer is giving a special present to the children of the communities: a treatment of their severe skin problems. This is the result of the donation drive we led last month, which donors so generously responded to! So we are so pleased to inform you of the use of this generous fund.
I provide one example of a local girl, just two years old, who is having a big rash on her head. While our volunteer is talking to her she cannot stop scratching her skin. Her parents are desperate to help their little girl, but they don’t have enough money to take her to the doctor or pharmacy. Because of the recent crisis they lost their jobs and their economic situation got worse. Even though the girl is developing similar problems every year, all the parents can do is hope for it to get magically better by itself.
Until now – because our volunteer made it his mission to bring children like her to the doctor by his own hand, and give them the treatment they so urgently need. Thanks to donations of compassionate people like you, the families get the doctor’s visit and medicine for free! To fight the bad hygienic situation in their homes, our contacts are also giving out soap and other products to the children.
Together they have helped many families. After their treatment they must feel immense relief! This is only possible because people donate for our projects.
