Aid goes to children in Sagaing Hills
We have distributed the first batch of funds that were so generously donated to allow children in the Sagaing Hills with skin conditions to be able to see a doctor and get medicine. This condition was caused by a combination of growing flood waters, lack of nutrition, and difficulty of hygiene. Our local volunteer collected a group of children at 8 am, and walked together to the doctors. As they were all quite hungry, he treated them to a meal.
The doctor prescribed medicine, but because the funds are so low now, the children did not even have access to purified drinking water to take the pills, and so this was also provided to them. Some of their parents were also in a very difficult health state. When asked, they said they could not see a doctor as the funds required for a visit would prevent them from being able to put food on the table, so they were simply suffering in bed. Our volunteer allocated some of the funds to help these parents so they could recover and then help their children. He also purchased soap for the children, as they had not been able to properly wash their hands, bathe, or wash their clothes in some time.
Thank you again for your support! If you are able to contribute further, please note we still have many groups in need and will be very grateful for your continued generosity.
