A Risk at Every Corner
"The situation on the ground is that every movement, even this interview, comes with life risk. So we need every possible support, whether financial or physical support, or even prayers. Even just your single voice that you shout out through the social media is very helpful to the people on the ground. We need every possible kind of help! Please support us."
Like so many, Mark never expected to find himself dealing with the sorts of crises now unfolding. As someone who came from a rural Chin village and ended up graduating with an MBA in England, and who had developed a successful training and consulting company back in Myanmar working with leaders from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, the coup wiped away everything that he and his family had been working towards for decades. Knowing the risk involved in telling his story, Mark still decided to proceed, as he felt there was an urgency in having his voice heard by those outside the country, so that the plight of his people are appreciated, and are not forgotten, as Burma has so often been in decades and even centuries past.
