Now is the time
The following story is made possible from the team behind Breaking Brainwashed. Htet Myat, a former soldier who defected after the coup, shares his thoughts.
The army burned the villages. There are more and more people fleeing war. The military has no follow-up responsibility to the people who suffer because of their actions. Don’t expect. They do it on purpose. These guys don’t know what sympathy is because they are inhumane.
In the face of the military's horrific atrocities, the People's Defense Forces are showing humanity and compassion. They are not able to turn a blind eye when they see someone in trouble, and they feel a greater responsibility to help those who have been affected by the burning of villages and homes. It is essential that we provide accommodation for those who have fled the war and are suffering. We must do everything we can to ensure that they have food and water, and that their safety is a priority. The costs of doing this may be minimal, but they must be paid from the funds that are intended for the revolution. The distribution and use of these funds may result in a delay to the armed revolution, but the People's Defense Forces are fighting for the people and cannot ignore their suffering. In times of crisis, we must stand together and do everything we can to support those in need.
The military's atrocities are countless and ongoing, and this latest atrocity is just one more example of the terror that the people of Myanmar are facing. The suffering of the people under the dictator is only increasing day by day, and it is a reality that I am experiencing firsthand in this region. It is a frightening thought that these horrors could reach even the cities, where the rich are no longer safe. Those who have experienced these horrors firsthand know that the blood will be divided in an insidious and impersonal manner. We must take urgent action to end this suffering and bring an end to the military's reign of terror.
In other words, the dictator's horrors are all around us, and it is up to us to take action and do everything we can to bring an end to this suffering. Some may be tired, but we cannot afford to rest now. We must push through our exhaustion and take advantage of this rare opportunity to overthrow the dictator. Every action we take, every click, is a part of the campaign for our people. After all of the hard work and sacrifice that we have made, we will finally be able to rest and see the fruit of our labor. But until then, we must remain vigilant and determined in our efforts to bring about change and justice.
