With a Little Help from My Friend, Webu Sayadaw
“As a Goenkaji student, I travelled to Myanmar with an interest in Dhamma sites and Buddhist tradition. At the time, despite 4 years of dedication, my meditation practice was in a somewhat difficult state. For many months I had been feeling completely unable to focus, my Samadhi was worse than ever and there was hardly any equanimity about it …. All that was starting to wear on me and had me seriously doubting myself and my practice.
During our time in Ingyinbin, the monks were kind enough to enable my husband and me to sit a day in silence. As an inspiration, I read some of Webu Sayadaw's discourses.
While I was sitting in this place, where so many people have meditated, and where Webu lived, gave Dhamma talks and practiced, something seemed to fall into place. With Webu's words in my mind, I was suddenly able to focus and allow my mind to calm down. A little glimpse of wisdom had shone in and kept shining in the time to follow.
Seems like I had gotten help from a (very compassionate) friend.”
