Tell Members of Congress to co-sponsor the Burma Act of 2021

The Myanmar military seized power on February 1, 2021. Since then, the army has murdered more than one thousand protesters and injured and imprisoned thousands more. To resist this military coup, people across Myanmar have taken to the streets. This new Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) is demanding that the international community impose strong sanctions on the military and its extensive business interests.

Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Representative Gregory Meeks (D-NY), have led the introduction of the Burma Act of 2021 in both the Senate (S.2937) and the House (H.R.5497). The bills will, not only sanction and hold accountable the Myanmar military, but also provide support to Burmese civil society and much needed humanitarian assistance directly to the Myanmar people.

Please add your name and address to send an email directly to your U.S. senators and representative, demanding that they support and co-sponsor S.2937 or H.R.5497, the Burma Act of 2021.
