Ashin Sarana: Stop Torture in Myanmar!

Ashin Sarana has asked us to share the following post, and encourages readers to share in your own networks and community. A dedicated monastic who continues his teaching and study duties, he demonstrates how a Buddhist monk can continue to engage in messy worldly affairs and speak up for those marginalized communities, while continuing his adherence to the Vinaya and the renunciate’s life.

Torture in Myanmar is the standard way of getting information, just see this link.

Men, women, monks, and even children are tortured for information. Many people die in prison because of the torture. The torture causes life-long injuries and debilitating trauma as well.

Inhumane, unlawful techniques are nothing strange to the dictatorship started by Gen. Min Aung Hlaing on the 1st of February. Another link, here.

The more people know these things, the faster Myanmar people will gain their freedom and peace.

Proper meditation on loving-kindness involves the training of the mind, speech, and action.

Thank you all for your noble efforts.
