Gratitude, Amazement, and Inspiration!

The Food for Nuns team issues another positive update on their effort to feed Burmese Buddhist nuns impacted by the worsening pandemic in Yangon:

It is with gratitude, amazement, and inspiration filled hearts that we announce that the FoodforNuns fundraiser has not only reached its initial goal of 10 000 euros—within less than a week—but has since then surpassed it thanks to the overwhelming generosity of all of you. We are now well equipped and motivated to proceed to stage 1 of the project; delivery of essential food supplies to 23 nunneries / 227 nuns in Mingaladon, Myanmar.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As for the fund, we have decided to keep it open to give the opportunity to those who wish to donate and haven’t had the chance to do so yet. When the time comes for its closure we will inform you here, and on our Facebook & Instagram pages.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, we thought you might like to know that donations for our fundraiser follow the GoFundMe terms of service which help provide increased security and integrity to the project. Following these standards, the funds are transferred progressively and we are delighted to inform you that our team in Myanmar has already successfully received sufficient funds to proceed with the first delivery.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the moment, we are implementing stage 1 of the project which consists of a 10-day food relief for 23 nunneries. Supplies of 20 basic food items such as rice, beans, oil... along with protective face masks will be delivered to a total of 227 nuns. We plan to document this first delivery and share a few pictures and words with all of you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lastly, in order to ensure everyone's safety and good health, we are committed to taking extra care in following precautionary measures for all steps and people involved in the project, especially concerning the delivery process.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you for your interest, trust and generous support,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
