Empowering Education: Providing Hope and Stability for Refugee Children
We are pleased to present an essay by the Chin team leader of our Mizoram project. This dedicated leader has been at the forefront of our community support efforts, and in this essay, he provides an insightful update on the well-being of Chin refugees. Furthermore, he expresses heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors for their unwavering support.
Preparing for a new school can be exciting but also daunting for many families in the camps. Parents have to help their children transition from unstructured to structured schedules and may worry about the children’s adjustment to a new environment. Families with children concerned about how the conflict that they had seen and the terror that they had experienced might impact their children, being aware of the factors contributing to students’ leaving their country as refugees (war and persecution) can provide some context for students’ lives to poorly perform in their daily activities. Children of all ages with traumatic experiences can be on high alert.
Since the first day we received help from you all, in addition to meeting our basic needs for food and shelter, you have also given us the educational supplies we urgently require, including books, pens, pencils, bags, umbrellas, uniforms, and even the school itself. We sincerely thank you; all of these deeds represent a new ray of hope for all parents and kids. The burden on all parents is greatly reduced because the kids no longer make demands to parents.
As the ones delivering the instruction and education, and committing their time and effort, with your provision teachers are also provided with a bit of stipend to make their work more practically effective. We once again thank you for all your support. We pray the Living Lord will continue to shower His blessings on you and that Peace be restored in Myanmar soon.
