Delivery of school materials in Mizoram

A few weeks ago, in a previous post, we announced our intention to support the many thousands of Chin refugees who were barely getting by in Mizoram, India.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude as we share the heartwarming impact our donors have made on the lives of Chin children and their families in Mizoram. You stepped up and believed in our mission by providing support that has now made all the difference. In the face of adversity and forced displacement due to military attacks, our organization embarked on a mission to bring education back into the lives of these resilient children.

Venturing into makeshift schools across Mizoram, our team witnessed firsthand the dire circumstances these families were enduring. The challenges they faced were immense, and the ability to access education was a distant dream. However, through the unwavering support of compassionate individuals like you, we were able to make a positive change.

We are honored to share the heartfelt words of a mother who, despite her own struggles, expressed her gratitude to us, saying the following in Chin language, which was translated to English: "As refugees, we are facing a difficult situation, and our children are struggling to go to school. We are incredibly thankful for the support we have received from generous people like you. The help we have received, like school bags, water filters, paper, pens, and chalk, has made a big difference in our lives. Having a school building now brings us great happiness because our children can finally attend school."

These words are a testament to the impact your contributions have had on the lives of these brave children and their families. It is heartening to know that, even in the midst of desperation, these children can find a sense of normalcy and support, empowering them to pursue their education and dreams for a better future.

Thanks to your donations, we were able to distribute sufficient school materials, ensuring that these eager learners could continue their education. The provision of school bags, water filters, paper, pens, and chalk has had a transformative effect on their lives, reinstating a glimmer of hope and opportunity in the face of adversity!
