Update in Thandaung, Karen State
We share the following disturbing report from our local team member in Yangon. This is a grave situation that requires urgent attention and action. Please read the full report and consider how you might be able to help those in need. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocating for change, every bit of support can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this crisis.
I am extremely alarmed by the information I received from a local contact in the Special Region of Northern Thandaung, located in Karen State. According to this person’s eyewitness accounts, the Myanmar military is using heavy artillery weapons and causing massive harm to civilians. He said the military attacks are indiscriminate, and soldiers are killing anyone they please now. People are being forced to leave their homes and camps because of the constant fighting, and there are shortages of essential items such as food, clothing, and medicine. The situation is dire, and there have been fatalities due to the lack of access to medicine. This is completely unacceptable and we must do something to help these people and ensure their safety and well-being. I ask anyone reading to please provide assistance by providing food, clothing, and medicine to those in need. We must act now before it is too late.
