A job well done
The Karen people have been through a lot in recent months. Many have been forced to flee their homes due to violence and conflict, and have ended up in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps like the one in Waw Lay, Karen State. Home to hundreds of people who have been displaced by the conflict in Karen state, for some time they have had to live in makeshift shelters with little access to food and medical care. This photo shows a small part of the distribution of aid that has been taking place in the camp.
The good news is that our aid efforts in Waw Lay have been successful! The IDP camp residents have been able to get the food, water, and other supplies they need to survive.
Still, it is heart-wrenching to see the faces of the people in the photo, which was taken at Waw Lay IDP camp in Karen state last month. They are receiving food and medicine on tarps, and it is clear that they are in need.
It is unfortunate that their faces had to be blurred for safety, but their expressions speak volumes. They look exhausted, and their eyes reveal the desperation they feel. This is not surprising, given the conditions they have been living in. They have been through so much, and their faces reflect the hardship they have experienced. But despite everything, they have not given up. They are still fighting, and this photo is a reminder of that.
It’s also important to keep in mind that there are other IDP camps in the area that are now in need. We do not have any donation fund left, and would humbly request donors to give what they can.
Your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of these people who have been through so much. Thank you for your consideration!
