Dana in Sagaing
Dear meditators,
Thank you so much for your kind donations which we used to buy much needed food and other necessities to monks and nuns in the Sagaing Hills. Your generosity is truly appreciated and it is thanks to people like you that we are able to help those in need.
The monastic-lay relationship in Myanmar is one where the lay people give donations and offerings to the monastics, and in return, the monastics provide spiritual teachings and guidance.
Monks and nuns are seen as the custodians of the Buddha’s teachings, and they play a vital role in the spiritual life of the country. For this reason, the relationship between lay people and monastics is one of great respect and mutual support.
As we know, the Sangha in Myanmar is seen as a path to enlightenment, and monastics are revered for their wisdom and knowledge. The monastic life is one of simplicity and renunciation. Monks and nuns are supposed to live a life of austerity, and they are expected to maintain a high level of moral conduct.
Your donations will make a huge difference in the lives of these monks and nuns and we cannot thank you enough. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
