Medical Coverage in Hlaing Thaya

We have allocated part of your donation to Hlaing Thayar, a poor industrial part of northern Yangon that has been under Martial Law.

The community here has suffered one pain after another. Because of increasing military presence, people and resources have not been able to easily enter. Combined with the fact that many doctors are not showing up at government hospitals as they are on CDM, many who have been injured by treatment from soldiers are not able to get proper medical attention. Sadly, even pregnant women and elderly are unable to find treatment.

For this reason, we have funded mobile doctor efforts to go into these neighborhoods and assess the urgent medical needs of residents living here. Your funds have been able to provide many of these with urgent care.
