Christmas comes early for the Akha

One of our local volunteers braved the cold of the high hills by traveling to an Akha village in Shan state. The Akha are an ethnic minority in Myanmar who are mainly Christian, and have been singled out for persecution by the military for years. Prevented from having access to adequate healthcare and suffering from a general lack of sanitation in their village at present, they are now facing a run of terrible allergies and skin rashes. From the elderly to babies, many are now afflicted with this problem. With the help from a volunteer medical team, our contacts were able to provide diagnosis and treatment for the village, and a plan is underway to go there with food and other medical supplies soon. With Christmas less than a week away, they hope to help them make this a special holiday in what are otherwise dark and disturbing times. If you would like to be included in their good tidings and Christmas present, please consider a donation.
