Drinking water urgently needed for Chin IDPs
The following message was sent to us from our Chin partners who are struggling to provide safe drinking water to the thousands now streaming in. They are trying to raise a fund of $2,500 to be able to provide adequate water supply to one village of 27 households who have been on the run since the Tatmadaw’s terror campaign in their community. Please take a moment to read their request, and share within those groups who are able to support.
Due to the conflicts and violence in Myanmar , and the influx of IDPs into the Indian border areas are increasing daily, there are thousands of the refugees being hosted by the local villages at their villages including at the [Z] village. There is a great need to collect clean water and store it for current and later use by these displaced persons. Currently there are 27 households , 170 people who are greatly in need of water supply. As safe water is essential for life , good health and survival , and providing access to water for the refugee communities will make a huge difference in the quality of life, and preventing sickness among these displaced and destitute people.
If there are water system materials, the local community are willing to help the refugee in setting up the water system installation.
