Demand for medical tents increase across Shan and Kayah state
The increasing desperation in the voices of the groups that we’re in contact with daily is hard to put into words. As bad as things have been since February 1st, this month has indicated a new level of terror and vulnerability that somehow finds a way to stand out, even among the overall worsening situation. From arrests across the northern and southern parts of Yangon (from Hlaing Thaya to Than Lyin), to intensified fighting across Shan and Kayah, to bombing campaigns across Chin state and entire towns of over 10,000 being on the run, there simply isn’t time to put down in words the evil that is now occurring country-wide in real time.
We are sending funds to groups in need just as soon as we acquire them, and it can’t be used fast enough. From medical to basic water to food to shelter, the Tatmadaw has declared war on its people, and the international community continues to turn its back. Please take a moment to share this request with friends in your community, as the humanitarian needs are at an all-time urgency.
The photos seen here are sent from our contact in Shan State, who is urgently trying to set up some temporary shelter in an open area to provide for the growing families that are now stranded and walking into the wild to escape the terror onslaught that their military is directing towards them. They have requested three medical tents, which we are still working to provide.
