Olympics Representation

Myanmar’s athletes have competed in the Olympics since 1948, when the country was known as Burma. Myanmar has participated in every Summer Olympics since then, with the exception of the 1980 games, which it boycotted. Myanmar has also sent athletes to the Winter Olympics on three occasions: in 1964, 1968, and 1972.

Myanmar’s best results in the Olympics have come in boxing and weightlifting. In boxing, Myanmar won a silver medal in the Flyweight category at the 1968 Summer Olympics, and a bronze medal in the Lightweight category at the 1972 Summer Olympics. In weightlifting, Myanmar won a bronze medal in the Lightweight category at the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Myanmar’s athletes have also had some success in other sports. In judo, for example, Myanmar won a bronze medal in the Lightweight category at the 1972 Summer Olympics. In rowing, Myanmar won a bronze medal in the Double Sculls event at the 1964 Summer Olympics.

Despite these successes, Myanmar has not won an Olympic gold medal. This is something that the country’s athletes and fans are hoping to change in the future. With more support and investment, it is possible that Myanmar could become a force to be reckoned with in the world of Olympic sports.
