Civil Disobedience Movement in Pyin Oo Lwin
The Civil Disobedience Movement continues on in Myanmar as a way to challenge the illegitimacy of the military following their seizure of power. All over the country, touching upon hundreds of different departments, civil servants continue to refuse to work for the murderers now attempting to run the country. It is truly remarkable that they are continuing on with their noble action coming up on a year now! And still they refuse to serve the generals. We are in touch with a local team in Pyin Oo Lwin, and they have requested funds for the following purposes. If you are able, as this holiday season comes upon us, consider a donation.
Following is the list of expenses we have in trying to support members of our community. We have exhausted all avenues for donation requests and we have still not covered all our needs. Please help if you can.
62 CDMers x 100,000 Kyat/person/family = 6,200,000 Kyat
3 detainee families x 500,000 Kyat/family = 1,500,000 Kyat
4 families affected by mortal shells + medicines for the whole village in Hsipaw = 700,000 Kyat
Fee to withdraw online money transfers into cash/Kyat = 500,000 Kyat
Total = 8,900,000 Kyat
