Washable Menstrual Pads

We are pleased to support a very important project that the local group Sisters 2 Sisters is sponsoring. We have allocated funds for part of their requested needs, but we hope to be able to support their good work to a greater extent! Please read the following description of their project and consider a donation earmarked towards this cause.

This initiative to donate washable menstrual pads to women in suburban Yangon addresses essential needs by improving health and hygiene, alleviating financial burdens, and promoting environmental sustainability. Indeed, it not only educates but also empowers women, ensuring they can manage their menstrual cycles with dignity and without economic strain. The effort fosters a sense of community, breaks down stigmas associated with menstruation, and contributes to a more sustainable and equitable society.

We request your support for women living in the suburban townships of Yangon who need washable menstrual sanitary pads. These women face numerous challenges, including low income, rising commodity prices, making it difficult for them to afford necessities such as sanitary pads.

Our initiative aims to donate 60 washable menstrual pads to these women, with each kit priced at 240 THB. Each kit includes three cotton pads, nine liners, and one instruction sheet. The total cost for 50 kits is estimated at 14,400 THB (approximately 411 USD). Additionally, there are associated expenses for cargo fees (around 30 USD) to deliver the pads from Mae Sot to Yangon, transportation charges (around 30 USD) to reach the destination, and printing of 60 instruction sheets (around 30 USD). The overall estimated cost is 501 USD, subject to currency exchange fluctuations.

Your support in this endeavor would make a meaningful impact on the lives of these women, addressing a crucial aspect of their hygiene needs. We look forward to your positive response.
